UH Portage Medical Center Receives Largest Gift in its History

A $2.5 million gift from Jim and Elisa Cipriano, with $500,000 in matching support from the Portage Medical Center Foundation, will provide funding for emergency medicine at UH Portage Medical Center. This is the largest gift of its kind in UH Portage history and in recognition, the UH Portage Emergency and Trauma Center will be renamed to the Cipriano Center for Emergency Medicine.

The Cipriano family has a long history of philanthropy at UH Portage Medical Center. Jim Cipriano was born and raised in Ravenna and his parents, Peter and Susan Cipriano, previously named the lobby at UH Portage. According to Jim, he and Elisa wanted to honor the hard work and dedication of the many health care workers who provide emergency medical services in and around Portage County.
