Leading the Way for Movement Disorder Research and Treatments

Steve suffered from Parkinson’s disease for over eight years. As the disease progressed, the tremors worsened, interfering with many aspects of his day-to-day life. Unable to control the tremors through medication, Steve and his wife, Chris, researched deep brain stimulation (DBS) and turned to University Hospitals for help.

For decades, UH Neurological Institute has been on the leading edge of movement disorder treatment. Today, Andrew A. Pieper, MD, PhD, Morley-Mather Chair in Neuropsychiatry, UH Neurological Institute and Director of Neurotherapeutic Discovery, UH Harrington Discovery Institute is leading the charge, developing novel treatments for patients suffering from neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric conditions.

UH Cures powered by Harrington Discovery Institute leads pioneering medical research and develops those discoveries into new, promising treatment options. UH Cures is the product of more than just passion and persistence, though. It is also the product of philanthropy. Join us on the path to a cure. Celebrate Giving Tuesday with a gift to UH Cures.
