Support UH Food for Life Markets®
One of the most basic human needs is food, but one in seven residents in Northeast Ohio face food insecurity. For many, it’s not just about hunger; it’s about managing diabetes, heart disease and the daily struggle to stay healthy.
The UH Food for Life Markets®, launched in 2018 in collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Sodexo, provides food-insecure patients with fresh fruits, vegetables and pantry staples, as well as one-on-one counseling with a licensed dietician. The program operates five sites throughout the region, in both urban and rural communities where access to healthy food is lacking. To date, our markets have given out over 960,000 pounds of healthy food to those in need.
Now more than ever, our patients need programs like UH Food for Life to not only address their hunger, but to keep them on a path toward improving their health conditions.
To support the UH Food for Life Market® and the vital work being done to address food insecurity and chronic illnesses, make a gift today.
