Golf Outings Support UH Mission
Over the spring and summer months, University Hospitals hosted seven golf outings. Thanks to the tremendous support from our generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers, UH golf outings raised more than $924,000.
The funds raised through the golf outings have a direct impact on the health and well-being of our community, including:
- Becky Hennessy Golf Classic, presented by Kohmann Bosshard, benefits the Miracle Fund at UH Seidman Cancer Center. The Miracle Fund furthers research for advanced cancers – focusing on new theories, trials and treatments aimed at managing cancer and extending lives.
- FORE! Wellness Classic benefits the Growth & Enhancement Fund at UH Lake Health Foundation. The fund provides assistance for projects that improve facilities, advance technology and expand programs to help support patients and meet UH Lake Health’s greatest needs in caring for the community.
- Rainbow Golf Classic, presented by GARDINER, benefits efforts to attract the best pediatric medical talent, continue to provide compassionate care for patients and families, and conduct cutting-edge research at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s.
- Tune Into Your Heart: Kevin W. Lynch Golf Classic presented by Janis Lynch, Johnson Investment Counsel and the children of Kevin W. Lynch: Shannon, Cali and KC. The outing supports the Kevin W. Lynch Heart Disease Research Fund at UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute is working to improve cardiovascular health in Northeast Ohio through the power of technology, data, effective treatments and prevention strategies.
- UH Elyria Foundation Golf Classic, presented by Kim & Jim Tweardy Family and Jim’s Electric. Funds raised will help to improve and enhance the intensive care unit at UH Elyria Medical Center.
- UH Parma Foundation Golf Classic, presented by Axelrod Buick GMC and the Northern Ohio Buick Dealers, benefits cancer care and breast health initiatives at UH Parma Medical Center.
- UH Portage Golf Classic benefits the UH Food for Life Market at UH Portage Medical Center. Run in cooperation with the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, the market is the only medically-based nutrition program in Portage County.
- UH Sports Medicine Golf Classic, presented by Kaulig Companies, benefits sports medicine community outreach programs. The UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute takes a multidisciplinary approach that integrates sports medicine specialists, primary care physicians, nutritionists, sleep experts and other health care professionals to ensure the very best care for athletes of all ages and abilities.
