Grateful Family Gives Back to UH Rainbow
April 11, 2026
In May 2023, Nash Finkler suffered a terrible fall and struck his head. He was rushed to UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s, where he spent eight days in a medically induced coma.
Nash remained in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for more than two weeks while his care team closely monitored swelling in his brain. During that difficult time, one very special caregiver made a meaningful difference - Rainbow facility dog Natasha, who brought comfort and joy to Nash and his family throughout the long days of waiting and healing.
After nearly a month in the hospital, Nash was transferred to a pediatric rehabilitation center, where he continued to regain strength before finally returning home.
Grateful for the compassionate and expert care Nash received, his grandfather made a donation to UH Rainbow’s PICU to support future patients and families.
Today, Nash is doing remarkably well and recently celebrated his 7th birthday. He enjoys riding his bike, swimming, and playing outside, and he especially looks forward to visiting his Rainbow friends, who now feel more like family, during routine checkups.

We can make an impact at UH and in our community Because of You.
