Trainers from the University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute walk the sidelines at Baldwin Wallace University every week, keeping a close eye as athletes compete on the field, mat or court. As the official training partner of the BW Athletics Department, UH athletic trainers help diagnose and treat injuries of all kinds as well as serve as a community partner.

The UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute is named in honor of visionary donors, Michael and Grace Drusinsky. Michael is a grateful sports medicine patient, and he and Grace were inspired to support UH after hearing about plans for expansion from James E. Voos, MD, Chair, UH Department of Orthopedics; Jack & Mary Herrick Distinguished Chair, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine; Executive Director, UH Haslam Sports Innovation Center; and Head Team Physician for the Cleveland Browns.

Through direct athletic trainer and team physician coverage, UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute is the first point of contact for expertise in injury prevention, recovery, safety and performance to more than 70 area high schools and colleges and provides full-team physician coverage to the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Monsters hockey team and Cleveland Ballet.
