The University Hospitals Bedford Wellness Center is often a hub of activity, from art therapy and financial literacy classes to aerobics and line dancing. It’s one of two UH Community Wellness Centers created to enhance the well-being of communities through trust building, health education, wellness programming, health screenings and access to care.

Along with Bedford, UH also built a community wellness center in the Glenville neighborhood in Cleveland. It’s part of a unique partnership with The NRP Group to integrate a community wellness center into an affordable housing apartment community.

Residents who live near the centers can engage with UH caregivers who are on site to deliver preventative health care, help address social determinants of health and enhance general well-being. Both locations offer healthy cooking demonstrations, support for pregnant women and young mothers, programs to combat senior citizen isolations, telehealth services and training in workforce and financial literacy. The Glenville center also features a Food for Life Market.
