Colleen and Matt Kaminski couldn’t wait for their 20-week ultrasound and the chance to see the baby they had named Blake Edward. Along with his fingers and toes, the scan also revealed that Blake had an extremely rare heart defect, which sadly took his life a few weeks later.

Thanks to the generosity of Joanie and Tom Adler, Colleen and Matt received incredible support both in and out of the hospital through the Joanie and Tom Adler Bereavement Programs. Led by Allison Remy, MSSA, LISW-S, the Joanie and Tom Adler Endowed Director of Bereavement Programs, the program facilitates comprehensive grief support for families suffering the loss of a pregnancy, infant or child.

“The support we received from Allison and her team was unbelievable,” said Matt. "The Adler Bereavement Programs helped us heal.”

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. If you would like to learn more about the Adler Bereavement Programs, visit our website
