For decades, Bob and Sylvia Reitman have devoted their time, talents and resources to University Hospitals. Their most recent gift to UH established the Sylvia K. Reitman Chair in Discovery and Innovation, which will be used to advance new medical treatments at Harrington Discovery Institute.

Bob said he wanted to create this position as a way to publicly and permanently honor his wife, Sylvia, for her more than 70 years of devotion to him and their family as well as honor their shared passion for innovation and groundbreaking scientific discovery.

This is the second endowed position established by Bob and Sylvia. In 2009, the Robert S. and Sylvia K. Reitman Family Foundation Distinguished Chair in Cardiovascular Innovation was created. It is currently held by Jonathan Stamler, MD, President, Harrington Discovery Institute.
