Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew, MD, Head of UH Office of Community Impact, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion; Lolita McDavid, MD, Medical Director, Child Advocacy and Protection, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital; and Dan Simon, MD, UH Chief Clinical & Scientific Officer and President of UH Cleveland Medical Center discuss racial equity in health care and the role UH is playing in addressing health disparities in our region.
University Hospitals sees firsthand how racism disproportionately impacts the health of minority communities, which manifests in higher rates of chronic diseases and infant mortality, and lower life expectancies and works every day to address issues of equity and reduce health disparities. Through your support, UH pledges to continue and expand our efforts to provide quality health care, improve access to care and provide education as ways to eliminate health care disparities.
