Walmart Donations Make Miracles Come True

The replica sleigh from the Disney movie Frozen was donated by Walmart and Sam's Club to be used as a raffle item to support
UH Rainbow Babies & Children's.

For three decades, customers and store associates at Walmart and Sam's Club have supported the annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' campaign. Funds raised at the registers and through creative fundraisers coordinated by store associates support critically needed research, training, equipment and direct patient care. This year, their passion for helping children raised $34 million nationally, and more than $165,000 to support UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital.

In addition, Rainbow received another holiday gift from Walmart -- a child-sized replica of the sleigh popularized in the Disney movie Frozen. A raffle of the battery-operated sled raised an additional $460 in support of Rainbow!

"We are extremely lucky to have strong partners like Walmart and Sam’s Club; the associates have an unwavering commitment to help care for kids and make their lives better," said Debbie Lewis, Manager of Strategic Community Initiatives . "We also extend our gratitude to customers and members and their incredible response to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Campaign."

In ways both large and small, Walmart exemplifies how large corporations can help make both sweeping changes nationally and small differences locally, each changing the lives of children for the better.
