Grateful for Local Care

Don Holman

Grateful UH patient, Don Holman

In 2016, Parma resident Don Holman was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He was relieved to learn, however, life-saving care was nearby – Don's UH Seidman Cancer Center oncologists are conveniently located at UH Parma Medical Center. "Cancer is hard enough,” he explained. “But UH brought the care to me. It is tremendous to have these services right here in the community."

Grateful for the compassionate, personalized care, Don wanted to give back. He decided to make a gift in honor of his oncologists, Aryavarta Kumar, MD and Mukesh Bhatt, MD. "It is a small token of my gratitude for everything they have done for me," he explained.

Patients like Don have benefited from local access to UH Seidman Cancer Center since 2013, receiving quality, multidisciplinary care close to home at UH Parma Medical Center. Help deliver advanced cancer therapies to patients like Don and support Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation's Parma Golf Classic. Held on September 18 at Columbia Hills Golf Club, proceeds from the annual event will benefit UH Seidman Cancer Center services at UH Parma Medical Center.
