Cleveland Browns Player Tackles Sickle Cell

Since 2013, twin brothers Jason and Devin McCourty have been raising money and awareness for the fight against sickle cell disease.

Cleveland Browns Cornerback Jason McCourty will host Tackle Sickle Cell Comedy Night on Monday, November 13, at the Cleveland Improv. The evening will feature popular comedian Guy Torry along with Jason and a number of his Cleveland Browns teammates. This special event is part of the Tackle Sickle Cell campaign created by Jason and his twin brother New England Patriots Safety, Devin McCourty, to raise money and awareness for the fight against sickle cell disease. Proceeds from this event will benefit University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's.

In 2013, Jason and Devin created the Tackle Sickle Cell campaign to give back to local organizations who support children and families battling sickle cell disease. Since then, they have hosted multiple blood drives and fundraising events in their home state of New Jersey along with the cities where they play for their respective NFL teams.

“This is something very personal to us. We are very close to our Aunt Winifred and as children we watched her daily battles with the disease. Her passion to keep fighting through everything that came her way has driven us to try to make a difference and draw awareness to the terrible disease,” Jason explained.

Sponsorship packages for the Comedy Night are still available and include a pre-show meet and greet with Jason. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Tackle Sickle Cell website.
