Division Chief, Neurological Surgery
UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital

Dr. Tomei is the Reinberger Endowed Director of Pediatric Neurological Surgery at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. She is also an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Tomei spent her childhood moving around the country as the daughter of an Air Force officer, eventually moving to her adopted hometown of Orlando, Florida. It was there that her parents took up ballroom dancing, a pastime they have engaged in for nearly 20 years. Though Dr. Tomei’s only formal dance training was jazz and ballet during elementary school, she felt that Dancing with the Docs was a great cause and perfect opportunity to follow in her parents’ footsteps and give ballroom dancing a shot. She is excited about learning some new moves, having a blast, and most of all, raising money for the Auxiliary Department of University Hospitals. She would like to thank the Auxiliary for helping her patients through their trying times, when sometimes a kid just needs to feel like a kid.
