The Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation proudly announces its signature event, the fifth biennial Ride the Rainbow to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Cleveland Jet Center. Ride the Rainbow 2010 sold out with 1,000 people in attendance, and our community raised over $830,000 for the hospital.

Your support of Ride the Rainbow furthers the hospital’s mission of providing the highest quality family-centered care to children and families. While Northeast Ohio treasures UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital as a special jewel, Rainbow is also recognized internationally as a leading center for subspecialty care, research and teaching. The success of Ride the Rainbow could not be more critical this year.   Support from Ride the Rainbow funds important programs at Rainbow, including, but not limited to:

·         Child Life, the group of dedicated team members at Rainbow who make hospital stays less scary for children, and educates parents on how to cope with new realities. This service is not paid for by insurance!

·         Injury Prevention, which includes teaching new parents about car seat safety, children about bicycle helmets, and teaches families about water safety. These services directly avoid future hospital stays and are completely paid for by philanthropy and grants!

·         Research and recruitment of talent, bringing the best and brightest medical leaders to our community to take care of our children. We are proud to be part of the discoveries made at Rainbow which change how pediatric care is delivered globally.

We are especially proud that Rainbow is once again recognized by US News & World Report as a top children’s hospital. In many ways, Rainbow sets the national standard for care.
