Vision 2010: The UH Difference
University Hospitals' Vision 2010 strategic plan is a $1.2 billion investment encompassing new and enhanced facilities, services, and technology to support the highest-quality health care available. Vision 2010 strategic capital initiatives include:
Plans also include development of our Centers of Excellence, as well as expansion of services at several of our suburban hospitals, the addition of suburban outpatient centers, and more than $100 million in technological enhancements, most notably system-wide electronic health records to optimize efficiencies, patient access, and safety.
Strengthening Our Community
Vision 2010 will have a significant, positive economic impact on our region. Construction activities associated with Vision 2010 are projected to create more than 5,200 jobs at the height of construction and generate more than $500 million in wages, salaries, and benefits. At the completion of the first full year of operation for each of the Vision 2010 projects, UH anticipates that more than 1,200 new hospital-based jobs will be created. In addition, UH formed a historic project labor agreement with the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council to keep construction jobs local and use minority- and female-owned firms.
More than ever before, the leadership, generosity, and active participation of individuals, corporations, and foundations are critical to the success of our plans to shape the future of health care in our community – to bring health and healing to patients here and everywhere.
