Society of 1866 members are recognized for annual, lifetime, and/or estate giving.

The Samuel Mather Society
The Samuel Mather Society recognizes individuals, family foundations, associations, corporations, and foundations whose cumulative giving totals $1 million or more. Through their remarkable generosity, members of the Samuel Mather Society have helped to secure the continued advancement of our mission of behalf of patients and families today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. University Hospitals is honored to celebrate the legacies of Samuel Mather Society members through perpetual recognition in the annual Report on Philanthropy and other UH publications. Additionally, members of the Samuel Mather Society receive invitations to the Samuel Mather Award Presentation and exclusive special events.

Benefactor Society
We gratefully acknowledge the exceptional generosity of our Benefactor Society members, whose lifetime giving totals $25,000 to $999,999. Benefactor Society members are recognized for cumulative lifetime giving in the following categories: 

$500,000 - $999,999 Platinum
$250,000 - $499,999 Gold
$100,000 - $249,999 Silver
$50,000 - $99,999 Bronze
$25,000 - $49,999 Brass

Benefactors are recognized in perpetuity in the annual Report on Philanthropy and receive UH publications and invitations to events, including an invitation to the Samuel Mather Award Presentation.

Annual Society
Annual giving is an important component of University Hospitals’ overall philanthropic plan and affords all donors an opportunity to invest in a healthy future. Annual Society members are recognized for their total yearly support of University Hospitals in the following categories: 

$25,000 and above  Founders
$10,000 – $24,999 Pacestetters
$5,000 – $9,999 Grand Patrons
$2,500 – $4,999 Patrons
$1,000 – $2,499  Sponsors

Annual gifts of $1,000 or more from individuals and family foundations will be recognized in the annual University Hospitals Report on Philanthropy. Additionally, friends will receive UH publications and invitations to select special events.

Annual gifts of $2,500 or more from individuals and family foundations and gifts of $5,000 or more from associations, corporations, and foundation will be recognized in the annual Report on Philanthropy. Supporters will also receive UH publications and invitations to select special events, including an invitation to our premier annual philanthropic award ceremony – the Samuel Mather Award Presentation – honoring exceptional generosity and civic vision.

THE DIAMOND LEGACY SOCIETY
The Diamond Legacy Society celebrates special friends who have made an estate, endowed, or other planned gift to University Hospitals. Charitable estate planning provides an opportunity to make a meaningful commitment, maximize philanthropic objectives and receive important tax benefits. In honor of their dedication and generosity on behalf of future generations of patients, Diamond Legacy Society members are recognized in the annual Report on Philanthropy and receive publications and invitations to special events.
